FBC Beer Cocktails: A Treat for Your Taste Buds!

As beer cocktails become more and more popular we at FBC always try to combine our Fresh From Florida beers with a delicious mix of home-grown treats. Now normally we wouldn’t encourage messing around with our fine hand-crafted brews, but we have come up with a list of NEW FBC beer cocktails, and also included some of our old stand by’s, that will surely tantalize your taste buds and make you melt away into a state of pure bliss, guaranteed*!

The  Limeberry Field

Ingredients:

 

1 12oz bottle Traditional Kelly’s Irish Cider

 

1 12oz bottle Key West Southernmost Wheat

 

2 hulled Fresh From Florida Organic strawberries

 

Instructions:

muddle the strawberries and place at bottom of chilled 16 oz pint glass, mix in 6 oz of Kelly’s Cider and stir topping off the rest with Key West Southernmost Wheat and stir once more, and enjoy!

 Sunset Over Rye

Ingredients

1 12 ounce bottle of Key West Sunset Ale

3/4 ounce Palm Ridge Reserve Whiskey

sliced organic red delicious apples

a pinch of Florida Crystal Sugar

Muddle the apple in a standard rocks glass with the sugar, pour whiskey over top, fill the glass with ice and pour the sunset ale to the brim and enjoy!

 

Stella Maris (Star of the Sea)

1 12 oz bottle of Devil’s Triangle IPA

1 12 oz bottle of Kelly’s Cider

4 ounces of white grapefruit juice

Mix into a standard 16 ounce pint glass – 4 ounces of Devil’s Triangle IPA, 4 ounces of Kelly’s Cider and top of with the white grapefruit juice (ruby-red can be used as a substitute)

 

 The Velvet Dagger

Ingredients

1 12 oz bottle of Gaspar’s Porter

1 12 oz bottle of Kelly’s Irish Cider

Mix equal parts into a standard 16 oz nonic pint glass pouring the cider in first and slowly add the porter. You can also add a shot of fireball whiskey for an extra pep!

 

The Tuscan Ape

 

Ingredients:

 

2 oz. shot of Campari

 

1 Swamp Ape Imperial IPA

 

Ice

 

lemon

 

Take one shot of Campari, pour over ice, then add 12 ounces of Swamp Ape IPA. Mix and pour into a snifter add a subtle twist of lemon to taste.

This is a fun and simple summer beer cocktail that will be the hit at any party!

 

Sea Trader

 

 

6 oz Hurricane Reef English-Style Pale Ale

 

10 oz  Devil’s Triangle IPA

 

Mix the together in a standard pint glass for a truly unique experience of blended hops and malts playing together, while adding a nice complexity. Definitely not for those with a weak palate.

 

Gaspar’s Cannonball

 

(1) 16 oz standard pint glass

 

(1) 2 oz shot glass

 

8 oz of Gaspar’s porter

 

2 oz of Fireball Whiskey

 

Pour 8 ounces of porter into glass then bombs away with smooth yet fiery, Fireball whiskey! These go down way to easy so do drink responsibly!

 

 

 

Green Machine

 

(1) 16 oz Standard Pint Glass

 

6 oz of Swamp Ape DIPA

 

2 oz  Irish Rye Whiskey

 

Pour 6 ounces of Swamp Ape DIPA into pint glass and pour in 2 ounces of rye whiskey.

 

*Growing green fur all over and waking up in the Florida swamps may occur. Ape Responsibly.

 

 

 

Florida Red Tide (The FBC Hangover Cure)

 

(1) 12 oz bottle of Florida Lager

 

6 oz Major Peters “The Works” Bloody Mary Mix

 

4 oz Old Bay Seasoning

 

4 drops of Texas Pete Pepper sauce

 

1 oz of pickle juice

 

 

Rim your glass with old bay seasoning using simple syrup, mix ingredients together, slightly stir, shut the lights and recover with one of the tastiest hangover cures to date!

FBC Sunburst Mimosa

Ingredients:

 

1 12oz bottle of Key West Southernmost Wheat

 

1 32oz bottle of local Noble Blood Orange Juice

 

1 22oz bottle of Blackcurrant Liqueur

 

Instructions:

Add 8 oz of chilled Southernmost Wheat to a 16 oz glass, mix in 6oz of Noble Blood Orange Juice, add a 1/4 oz blackcurrant liqueur and stir to mix.

 

This drink combines the fresh bitey citrus flavors of the key lime, spices from the coriander and yeast, with the nice flavorful blood orange zest and leaves a nice smooth tart finish from the blackcurrant. This bright and smooth beer cocktail will definitely be the hit at any brunch or Sunday fun day!

 

Shark Bite Shandy

 

1  fresh key lime

 

1 12 oz bottle of Florida Beer Key West Southernmost Wheat

 

1 12 oz bottle of Kelly’s Traditional Hard Irish Cider

 

1 container of all natural Simply limeade (or you can make your own limeade)

 

1 16 oz pint glass

 

Directions:

 

1) pour 8 oz. of Key West Southernmost Wheat, 4 oz. of Kellys Cider and 4 oz. of limeade into a mixing glass mix by stirring with a cocktail spoon.

 

2) Pour mix into pint glass and serve over ice.

 

3) Garnish with Key lime and enjoy!

 

*For a fun new twist on this cocktail, try adding 2-3 oz. of   PAMA liqueur to the mix. “The FBC PAMA Shandy”

 

 

The Fighting Bellini

Our take on the classic Bellini, just with a little Irish added to it.

Ingredients:

1 12 ounce bottle of Kelly’s Irish Cider

1 bottle of Lorina Pomegranate Blueberry Premium Soda

1 oz of locally grown organic Blueberries

Instructions:

1) In a mixing glass add half pint of Kelly’s Cider and 4 ounces of pomegranate blueberry soda

2) shake to mix ingredients

3)  pour into a glass of your choice, Garnish with blueberries and enjoy! (for more of a blueberry take over, muddle the blueberries in the bottom of the mixing glass, shake, strain and pour)

If you love a real fruity taste, that’s not to heavy this is the drink for you. It has great pomegranate and blueberry notes and still manages to be light, crisp and refreshing.

*The alternative version of this drink is the “Pretty Kelly”. For a real “Fruit Bomb” Replace the Kelly’s Traditional with the Kelly’s Raspberry, follow the same steps and enjoy!


Key West Sunrise Shandy

1  fresh key lime

1 12 oz bottle of Florida Beer Key West Southernmost Wheat

1 container of all natural Simply limeade (or you can make your own limeade)

1 16 oz pint glass

1) pour 10 oz. of Key West Southernmost Wheat into pint glass

2) Now mix 4-6 ounces of limeade into the glass (depending on taste)

3) Garnish with Key lime and enjoy!

(Variations of this include adding strawberry or Orange soda water)

FBC “Floats” Into Summer…Florida Style!

Seven days of summer have passed, and the solstice has brought us nothing but unrelenting (some would say ravenous) heat and summer rains! But don’t fret fellow Floridians, because the beautiful breezy summer days are coming and FBC will be there with you every step of the way!

Today we have made two delicious summer “floats” that will keep you refreshed and cool under the scorching Florida sun!

Buoy Berry Bomb

Ingredients:

1 scoop (or 1/4 cup) of fresh Strawberry or Raspberry sorbet

1/2 Kiwi sliced and muddled (to taste)

12 ounces (chilled) of Key West Southernmost Wheat

Muddle the kiwi into an official 12 ounce Florida Beer Company glass (If you don’t have an FBC glass then a standard pint glass will do in a pinch 😉 ) , then pour in  (slowly) the chilled Southernmost Wheat add 1 scoop of delicious berry sorbet and be swept away by the berry, kiwi and key lime bliss! (You can also muddle fresh strawberries along with the kiwi for added complexity)

The Frosty Pirate

Ingredients:

1 scoop of Ben and Jerry’s Phish Food

1 shot (1.5 ounces) Fireball Whiskey

12 ounce bottle of Gaspar’s Robust Porter

Pour 8 ounces of Gaspar’s Robust Porter into a standard pint glass, pour in the shot of Fireball Whiskey and top it off with a fresh scoop of Phish Food. Definitely need a long sundae spoon and some napkins for this magnanimous grog of grogs!

The “H” is “O” as FBC Hops into Spring!

As the cold weather subsides and the sun begins to break through the clouds..Who are we kidding, its been nothing short of paradise during our Florida “winter”, but now is time to get your backyards in order, pack the cooler full of ice and get outside,better prepare, it’s going to be a long spring.

As this years spring season promises to be one of the warmest on record, we at FBC will help you keep cool and pleasantly refreshed throughout the coming months, with the return of the “Sunrise Shandy” beer cocktail. This beer cocktail, one our favorites at FBC, is a “Florida” inspired shandy, using nothing but Fresh From Florida ingredients.

Key West Sunrise Shandy

1  fresh key lime

1 12 oz bottle of Florida Beer Key West Southernmost Wheat

1 12 oz bottle of Kelly’s Traditional Hard Irish Cider

1 container of all natural Simply limeade (or you can make your own limeade)

1 16 oz pint glass

Directions:

1) pour 8 oz. of Key West Southernmost Wheat, 4 oz. of Kellys Cider and 4 oz. of limeade into a mixing glass mix by stirring with a cocktail spoon.

2) Pour mix into pint glass and serve over ice.

3) Garnish with Key lime and enjoy!
