FBC Autumn Ales and Florida Tales

The crisp cool air swoops in this time of year, rustles the dead leaves, sparks up amazing aromas from the kitchens and grills, and puts one in the mood for more satisfying beers and deeper flavors. All these aromas and smells and  help bring a little of the true Autumn feel down to the sunshine state. At FBC we are all for a little chill in the air and have a few different brews that will put a warm smile across your wind chilled face.

Our classic American Amber Ale, Key West Sunset Ale is what started it all for us. Weighing in at 5% ABV, this medium bodied malty brew is a perfect way to enjoy the nice cool breeze during the fall in Florida. Subtle nutty notes, some slight citrus and a nice crisp clean finish makes for a wonderful addition to any beach bonfire or cookout. You can find our flagship brew at any Publix, Total Wine, ABC and Whole Foods. (Also in local area markets)

Pairs well with Fresh From Florida roasted chicken and root vegetables, Florida Pinkies and for an added zest add a slice of some fresh Fall Tangerines.

Another brewery Favorite is our newly redesigned Robust Porter, Gaspar’s Porter. This dark and roasted dream of a porter weighs in at 6.1%ABV and contain 8 malts, including 6 specialty chocolate malts. This porter is our “Florida Porter”, a nice light to medium bodied porter with aromas of toffee and chocolate. To only then have your palate pillaged, by deep flavors of finely roasted espresso, velvety chocolate and finish with rich dark malt character. This beer also ages well for a few months adding more plum and licorice flavors to this already complex brew.

Pairs well with braised pork and sweet potato, seared swordfish with a squash and zucchini salad with navel orange vinaigrette. Also makes an amazing beer float when mixed with French Vanilla Ice Cream and Graham cracker crumble. You can find this pirating porter at Total Wine, ABC and Publix.

Also still available at Total Wine and More is our Oktoberfest seasonal, Conchtoberfest!

We hope this helps you get your Florida fall off to a great start! Remember to follow us on Twitter @floridabeer, LIKE US on Facebook and follow us on instagram (floridabeercompany)

FBC & BMBC Present: Return of The Freaky Firkins!

FBC & BMBC Present: Return of The Freaky Firkins!

Halloween is the time of year where many adorn horrific, funny or sexy personas, and get together to party the night away. The heat is gone, the weather is cooling and many people act a little bit out of the ordinary. So many different spices, smells and tastes come around at this of time of year, which is a change from light and zesty flavors of the hot summer months. When one thinks of  the type of beers brewed for Halloween, the line “Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and caldron bubble” from Macbeth comes to mind.

FBC Oddities: Recap of Dark Arts Creep St. Pete Local

Often looked upon as a sinister or a fringe aspect of human culture, the Dark Arts celebrate the occult, the obscure and the forbidden. This past weekend we celebrated the dark corners of the human mind in a very extraordinary way while supporting an amazing local organization.

The Dark Arts: Creep St Pete Local event, a charity fundraiser for the Keep Saint Pete Local Non-Profit organization, celebrated local artists, culture and businesses. With over 1000 people in attendance at Station Numberthree, Dark Arts brought together a group of people who all support the local cause and the amazing oddities of life.  Supporting local business has become a strong point of unity across America in small cities and towns.

In fact Every dollar spent with locally owned, independent businesses generates over three times the local impact as compared to spending with national chains. This fact alone should be everyone’s call to action in supporting local, independently owned businesses throughout the country.

Being an Independent  Florida based business we jumped at the chance to be apart of such a unique and “local centric” event. The event organizers Casey Paquet, Olga Bof and Joanna Coblentz created an experience that we just can’t really put into words. Thank goodness the event was well covered with photographers capturing the amazing artwork, costumes and the great people throughout the night.

Here is are some of the photo’s and a link to Photographer’s Tim Simmons photos from the event: http://www.timsimmonsphotography.com/#!/index/G0000qGdEGGlK28E/1

FBC Imbibes at the Epicurean Hotel Preview

Last night in south Tampa, FBC got to witness culinary arts transcend from the mundane into a meaningful experience for your senses. The new Epicurean luxury Hotel boasts 137 rooms, a beautiful roof top bar, house grown vegetables, 32 person kitchen/class room dubbed  the “Epicurean Theater”, and of course the best brunch in Florida. Elevage, the newest restaurant to the Bern’s group, will offer decadent meals during breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bringing back the slow food mentality at a decent price.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

This entire hotel is a hedonistic retreat for your taste buds. Brain child of Bern’s Steakhouse owners and Marriot luxury hotels, this resort is a foodies retreat. Not only will there be amazing libations from the Bern’s wine cellar, small crafted cocktails and of course locally sourced beer, but the entire atmosphere will be modern approachable with a side of yesteryear decadence.

Two of our core brands were featured last night, lightly paired to an onslaught of delicious tapas and amazing desserts. Florida Lager a staple at Bern’s Steakhouse and Sidebern’s will be making its way to the new hotel, this is just the tip of the ice burg on how the Epicurean Hotel will embrace their Florida heritage, by using locally made products and goods. Not only was FBC on hand, but our friends at Cigar City Brewing in Tampa also had their Humidor IPA flowing  last night for the masses to enjoy.

The Epicurean Hotel will be completed  in December of 2013. For those ambitious few, one can make reservations online starting today! http://epicureanhotel.com/

For a more in depth look on the Epicurean Hotel go to TBT Writer Jeff Houck’s article on Bern’s Epicurean Hotel: http://tbo.com/dining/bernx2019s-epicurean-hotel-goes-eclectic-with-food-20130812/

FBC Gets Raw & Unfiltered

FBC Gets Raw & Unfiltered

Recently at Florida Beer Company we have been working on new and exciting ales and lagers for our fellow Floridians to enjoy! From the amazing and innovative Swamp Ape DIPA to the recent release of Gaspar’s Porter, our robust style porter, we are starting to delve into more unique styles and have gotten our creative juices brewing!

Recently we introduced  Devil’s Triangle IPA, at the Epcot Food and Wine festival. Being the most popular brew at the festival,  we decided to launch it in select markets at the beginning of 2013!  Our creative staff of brewers came up the idea of releasing a very special version of this deliciously hopped, citrus fronted IPA on small-scale. So we decided, what better place to release it, then the grand opening of the new Total Wine in Viera!

This release is very limited and was only made for the Grand Opening on March 21st, 2012 of the new Total Wine, in our own backyard of Viera!  We are excited to be the local brewery showcased and hope this will continue our  “brewtiful” friendship.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Now about the brew..

Devil’s Triangle Unfiltered will be a limited 22 ounce and draft release. This unfiltered brew has been generously hopped with cascade, centennial, columbus and warrior hops, backed by 3 specialty malts. This gives our IPA a bigger and fresher citrus hop aroma and flavor throughout.

To celebrate our release of  22 oz. Devil’s Triangle Unfiltered IPA,  limited draft will be available at :

World of Beer Viera –  March 21st

The Mansion in Melbourne –  March 26th

Broken Barrel Tavern Palm Bay- TBA

Don’t worry Florida, we will also release limited draft throughout the state, so stay posted to our Facebook, blog and twitter for more updates!
