FBC Oddities: Recap of Dark Arts Creep St. Pete Local

Often looked upon as a sinister or a fringe aspect of human culture, the Dark Arts celebrate the occult, the obscure and the forbidden. This past weekend we celebrated the dark corners of the human mind in a very extraordinary way while supporting an amazing local organization.

The Dark Arts: Creep St Pete Local event, a charity fundraiser for the Keep Saint Pete Local Non-Profit organization, celebrated local artists, culture and businesses. With over 1000 people in attendance at Station Numberthree, Dark Arts brought together a group of people who all support the local cause and the amazing oddities of life.  Supporting local business has become a strong point of unity across America in small cities and towns.

In fact Every dollar spent with locally owned, independent businesses generates over three times the local impact as compared to spending with national chains. This fact alone should be everyone’s call to action in supporting local, independently owned businesses throughout the country.

Being an Independent  Florida based business we jumped at the chance to be apart of such a unique and “local centric” event. The event organizers Casey Paquet, Olga Bof and Joanna Coblentz created an experience that we just can’t really put into words. Thank goodness the event was well covered with photographers capturing the amazing artwork, costumes and the great people throughout the night.

Here is are some of the photo’s and a link to Photographer’s Tim Simmons photos from the event: http://www.timsimmonsphotography.com/#!/index/G0000qGdEGGlK28E/1

FBC Celebrates Its Roots: 4th Annual Key West Brewfest is Coming!

One of the most exciting events in the craft beer world, has to be the Key West Brewfest! This event has grown by leaps and bounds over the last few years. From just being a Brewfest on the beach, to now hosting events all week-long. Some of the events include beer dinners, beer bunches, seminars,  beer releases and brand parties. Eventually they should just change the name to  Key West Beer Week 🙂

FBC at BBC

Day two of the Beer Bloggers Conference here in the beautifully historic city of Boston! As we have been traversing through the conference we have visited Boston Beer Company, made some friends with Heavy Seas Brewery and have listened to some enlightening seminars, we have to say that this group of bloggers are great.

With everyone coming from all over the nation to celebrate the eclectic and inspirational world of craft beer, it is truly an eye opener to see the people who have the passion not only to drink local and celebrate the craft beer culture, but also preach this to the masses. Can’t wait to visit Harpoon brewery today, dive into some live blogging and schmooze at the beer social tonight! We will be handing out some special gifts and will be pouring some Gaspar’s Porter, Swamp Ape DIPA and the ever refreshing Southernmost Wheat!
